Hebrews 13:5

Love is an emotion to be spent on God and people, not things.

We use the word love all the time when the word like would probably be a better fit.  I love coffee and chocolate, but that isn’t actually what I mean.  I like the taste.

We can get into a huge debate on the varying degrees of love, but it wouldn’t serve a purpose.  To love means to be willing to step back and allow the object of your love to have a prominent place.  Love is sacrificial, in all forms, the only debate is the degree we are willing to sacrifice.
Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
