John 16:22

Jesus was talking to His disciples about His being crucified and resurrected and His return.  They didn’t understand but this verse packs a punch.
We can accept that Jesus was speaking about His ultimate return, or we can also apply it in the context of His appearances after His crucifixion which would surely apply as well.

I’ve always wondered how the disciples could stand so strong in the face of persecution and tortuous  deaths.  Jesus answers that here….and no one will take your joy away…

Awesome.

Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
