Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.
I had to take my cat, Sammy, to the vet this morning to have a mass removed from her side.
It started out as a little “bump” that she had since I can remember (she’s 11-12 years old right now). The bump was just there and you could barely feel it as you petted her.
Then this past year it grew to a full-fledged “lump”. It still didn’t bother her or anything so I buried my head in the sand and ignored it.
Until one day, a couple months ago, she decided to lick it until it bled.
And then it wouldn’t heal. We kept her wrapped hoping it would heal up but it didn’t.
And then it got bigger. Instead of being a lump a little smaller than quarter size, this past month it has grown to about 1/2 dollar size.
I don’t pretend to understand how a little “bump” that she had forever could turn into a cancerous mass that grows uncontrollably. It was like her little bump was a time-bomb. Times Up! Time to grow uncontrollably.
So today, Sammy is having surgery to remove her little time bomb and she is in God’s hands.
If she comes through the surgery fine and recovers…Praise God! I’ll have more time with my loving cat.
If she passes away during the surgery or after…Praise God! He knows the beauty of His creation and wants to cuddle her too.
